I offer online counseling services in a variety of formats:
- Videoconference (Skype, FaceTime, Google+ Hangout, etc.)
- Text chat
Videoconference and text chat occur as realtime conversations, while email therapy works as back-and-forth, in-depth correspondence. Online sessions are always highly encrypted to protect your confidentiality. I’ve been conducting online sessions for a number of years and can help guide you through the best use of the online medium to make therapy as practical and effective as possible.
If visiting a therapist’s office is difficult for you, online counseling is a great solution. You can participate in therapy in your own home, without transportation or scheduling hassles. Research has shown that online counseling is just as effective as face-to-face counseling for many different types of treatment.
Online counseling may be useful for you if:
- You have social anxiety
- You have limited mobility
- You are deaf or hard of hearing
- You don’t have reliable transportation
- You are more comfortable typing than talking
I have been offering online counseling for many years, and can talk with you about the unique aspects of each so that we can decide together how online counseling can best work for you.
Secure and Confidential
For videoconference, email and chat services, I use only HIPAA-compliant platforms with end-to-end high-level encryption, so our communications are confidential, not recordable, and readable by only you and me.
Online Counseling Fees
Videoconference and text chat: $140 per session.
Email: $45 per email exchange. This means one round of back-and-forth. You can expect one email exchange to involve several paragraphs of discussion (about a third of a realtime session’s worth of content).
If this seems out of your reach right now, email me at email@example.com and we can discuss fee options.
